Sierra62
This morning at my work, I group of compositors where comparing horror stories of work they had done in the past. For example one of the guys had a shot where he had to "clean and color correct an actors butt crack". I have heard countless stories from compositors, but not many from effects artists, so I figured I would start a new thread for sharing those stories of the jobs you just had to do.
Netvudu
Fun! I had to make an eye-less face substitution for a feature film once. It had to be in 3D with face tracking as there was some obvious perspective change. Because of that, I went to work everyday with a pen-drive full of photos of one-eyed people for reference. I felt like some kind of mad pervert. Edited March 27, 2014 by Netvudu
bandini
Nice topic... We had a dude who was shot in a thong, and he was supposed to be some kind of completely naked magic fairy ken-doll elf thing. I think we had like 20-40 shots of frank and beans removal, some with paint outs and some with cg, blended into the footage. I know, still compositing world... Guest tar
A real horror story is veteran fx artists looking back on their career and realising all they did was make shampoo, food and hair commercials.

symek
I used to spend 2 weeks matching character's body to another legs, which were cropped out by 4:3->1:2.35 conversion...
