Cloud Noise - Noise mask - how to use it

Hello,

in Cloudnoise node there is a Noise Mask tab. What is the correct way to use it?

There is Noise Attribute field, but what class type? I tried to use point attribute which I painted on geometry using Paint SOP, but after converting it into volume in Cloud node, all points with their attributes are removed.

In documentation is written: When on this will use a point attribute specified to control the overall noise effect.

I'm confused can anybody help me? Is it possible to paint attributes into volume? Or transfer attributes from polygon geometry to volume?

Thanks

Hi seals77,

when you import the cloud geo into your "cloud network" it's plugged into a colud node that create the actual volume, and from there it will go to the cloud noise. You have to plug the object merge node with your cloud geometry to the CloudNoises's second input. You can create the "noise" point attribute into your original geometry.

This should works.
