Fire abstract look

Hello Everyone!

 

I'm looking for a very abstract type of look from fire, very commonly seen in photoshop images.

Please check the attached images for reference.

 

As per my knowledge there are two parts for developing this look

 

1: Pyro FX for getting realistic flames.

2: Material shader for edge glow.

 

Please guide me how to pursue this effect.

Guide me the link for material shaders and any other references.

Try advecting lots of very small particles (millions) through a low-medium res pyro sim, rendered with an additive shader.  That's probably the most efficient way of doing this.

 

I did Magneto's effects this way: 

(0:50+)

And all of Dr. Doom's effects, too:
