Mandrake0
use micropolygon render and set the volume quality to 1 (mantra node) that should help you. edit: maybe it would be nice to see the hip file it could be also something else. eetu
Adding Stochastic Transparency Samples (mantra->Properties->Sampling) or disabling them altogether should also help - at the expense of render time of course.

eetu
Taking a quick look, either of our suggestions seem to help. (Remember that the Render View panel always uses raytrace if it's set in preview mode)
Sierra62
If you are using PBR, I would recommend increasing your pixel samples to at least 6X6. this will get rid of most of the noise. that will get you really close, then I personally would lower the noise level to 0.01, and raise the volume quality to 1. Sierra62
Here is a good read on what PBR is. http://www.marmoset.co/toolbag/learn/pbr-theory When it comes to rendering volumes PBR may be a bit slower than micropoly but will give you much greater detail than you could ever get with micropoly rendering. Sierra62
How are you lighting your volume?
vfxlearner
I used skylight for lighting the volume
vfxlearner
Hey Sierra62 ,the page you have sent about pbr theory is not shown or invalid,Can you resend it again?
Sierra62
Personally I have found that more of a 3 point lighting setup along with an environment light with HDR map (default sky environment map works well too) will give the best results. When using a single light, it tends to result in a flatter image than a multi light setup. http://www.marmoset.co/toolbag/learn/pbr-theory hopefully that works this time.

iamyog
Personally I have found that more of a 3 point lighting setup along with an environment light with HDR map (default sky environment map works well too) will give the best results. When using a single light, it tends to result in a flatter image than a multi light setup. Careful with the Environment Light with volumes. It kills your render times and can usually be efficiently replaced by a quick lighting job.
