Atom
Hi All, I am using the Principled Shader as a light. A single big plane above my object. This does work, but there does not seem to be any way to increase the emissions samples count. Even if I crank up Mantra sampling, the result is always the same. Atom
Thanks you, using the Geometry Light and Enabling Render Geometry gives much better results. Would you have any tips on removing noise from the reflection portion? That seems to be where my image needs the most help. If I turn reflection up, i am turning up noise. davpe
to answer your question, I think the only way how to sample emission more is to calculate more pixel samples. emission lighting is always the last resort bcs of difficult sampling. davpe
for reflections you most likely need to use more ray samples. look up page on removing noise in Houdini help. it is well documented there how to deal with different kinds of noise.
