Water floading Exercise

Recommended Posts

Hi, I would like some advice in order to improve this shot, which is in the beginning an exercise given by my teacher in order to learn tracking (we had to track the shot and put in some 3d). We had initially 3 days and now that the deadline is passed, I would like to make this shot part of my future demo-reel.

I already see some things which aren't good, like the wet map on the walls, the foam doesn't live enough. So, I would appreciate any advice given.

Thx

It looks pretty good! Things that jump out at me

-motion blur seems to turn off after the first hit on the left wall

-as you say, wetmap isn't aligned, it's too dark, could bring it back to 50% of its opacity

-water surface noise looks wrong scale? also doesn't feel like it flows with the water, but thats getting very picky

-could comp some fake caustics on the walls as the water rushes in

-if you have comp time, some faked interaction with the plant and the trashcan; make the plant wobble a bit, shift the trashcan a little towards camera

-in english its 'flooding', not 'floading' :)

Thank's for your feedback, really appreciate it. Didn't see about the motion blur, will check it asap. As the wetmap is just some color correction, this will be easy to be done.

I will look at the water surface, I don't manage yet to get some details while keeping the surface smooth, needs to work on it.
