Hi, I'd like for my dept to adopt it: Has progress been made to export cryptomatte aovs in mantra? We can help beta testing / trialing if needed. Please let me know Many thanks Luca
martinkindl83
I spoke with Jeff Wagner personally couple months ago, he told me its already done. But then i spoke with support, and they told me that they have no info about it. I would say, its not even in development, or maybe with very low priority. If you want crypto, go with Arnold, thats what we did. Edited April 11, 2017 by martinkindl83
Lucavfx
Hi Martin, Thanks for the heads up, I asked sidefx support as well and was told they're not developing it. I suppose I'd still like to know if H16 would provide the capability for users to build their own cryptomatte compatible aovs.
symek
I've made an attempt to support Cryptomatte in Mantra, just stopped the work due to the lack of spare time + SESI warnings that pixel filter API soon will to be changed with introduction of adaptive sampling in H16 == waste of time. Since it didn't happened I'm more into it than not just haven't found a moment to finish it yet. Feel free to encourage me or do it yourself http://github.com/symek/automattes (code is little blotted because, well because...)
