hoknamahn
Hey guys! I wonder how to break the wall (say polygonal grid or stamped on that grid geometry) by particles?
aracid
hey hoknamahn is there any reason why u wouldnt wanna try dops?
hoknamahn
hey hoknamahnis there any reason why u wouldnt wanna try dops? 22899 I'm asking abt DOPs
aracid
I'm asking abt DOPs 22901 mmm, i didnt notice the subsection... i wonder if the copy object DOP is what u looking for hdox://houdini/content/helpcards/dop/copyobject.xml i think that might help aracid
Andrei_S
But how can i made particle as RBD Object may be sphere or box?
hoknamahn
I'm looking for a ways to move a pieces of geometry (fractured object) by particles.
michael
well the good old Breaking Ica tutorial might help: http://odforce.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=3362 maybe a description of what you want to do would help...

edward
Try looking at the example file in the help for the POP Solver DOP.
hoknamahn
Try looking at the example file in the help for the POP Solver DOP. 22909 Huh... I have a RBD Fractured Object (polygonal grid with unique points) and POP Object. But simulation looks as it's not Fractured Object but usual RBD Object. When the particles hit that object the object doesn't scatter on a parts and turns entirely.
edward
Try also looking at the RBD Glue DOP examples.
hoknamahn
Maybe someone can made a simple example?

michael
weeeee! zero gravity is fun! pop_wall.zip
hoknamahn
Thanks a lot guys But what if I wanna brake a grid? (not copied geometry)
hoknamahn
Never mind. I understand my mistake.
Andrei_S
but i don't understand how can i made particles as volume object, may be sphere or box?
hoknamahn
but i don't understand how can i made particles as volume object, may be sphere or box? 22936 Copy Objects DOP? Interesting question. I have another one question: when I change geometry from boxes to grid (in the brake_wall_by_particles.hipnc scene) particles doesn't see the grid. All my experiments with breaking of the grid (or other 2d object) by _particles_ are failed So I still wanna see example with breaking of the _grid_. Any suggestions? hoknamahn
And one more... How to group the polygons of the dop objects with the rule "all polygons that was pushed out by particles"? For example if I want to apply the gravity force to the polygons that was pushed out from the broken grid.
Andrei_S
for group you can use this expression dopoption(".", $OBJID, "Position", "tz") < -0.5 for example. and look DOP example file !!!!!
