Fast and flat particles shading with over life controls

Looking for a way to apply a flat and fast shader to particles and also be able to control size, color and opacity over life as you could do with trapcode particular after effects plugin or x-particles.

Here is a setup that has individual shape ramps for size over life, color over life, opacity over life and an additional colorization of PINK if a collision has been detected. To render flat shaded output use the OpenGL node (check out the /out context). You can copy whatever shape you like to the resulting colorized points. Shown here, is a thin tube/disc.
