tjvoll
Every time I close Houdini I get the following error: Fatal Error: data saved to C:/DOCUME~1/tom/LOCALS~1/Temp/tom.hip and then in the Houdini Console i get: Fatal error: Illegal instruction Saving application data to C:/DOCUME~1/tom/LOCALS~1/Temp/tom.hip So, does anyone know possible causes of this? MG
Those messages are just notification messages that Houdini has (in some cases; "tried to") output the scene, before totally crashing, to your user/home directory. But you knew that, right? A possible "cause" is a little vague, in most cases of a fatal crash. Unless there's a certain pattern visible, in the steps you take and the times that Houdini crashes. Which makes me wonder, where does Houdini always crash on for you? And by answering that, I might be able to help you out.

edward
Well, don't be too drastic. First thing is to upgrade to the latest video drivers and see if that works. Even if that doesn't work, there are still ways. Search around for the threads on video drivers on here and the SESI forums.
