rdg
is there any info you can share on the colour cube elephant?! The elefant is a 3dsmax lowpoly model I modeled as CNC template. I added some bones to animate it. The aniamted Elefant is now merged into the ColorCube. There it is the bounding object that generates a group in a 3d grid of points. A copySOP copies boxes to the group points. Same technique that FrankFirsching is using to generate the shape for the lego dino. Allegro
The point cache looks sweet. Does it work in the Apprentice version?About the DVD, I can't wait to get it. I love l-sys. *is there any one who's seen it and that would be interested in reseling? I would re-sell it, but unfortunately they encode your personal information into the dvd... so if I resold, and then it was pirated, not only would all the pirates have my info, but I'd get blamed. rdg
I have finaly frozen the development of the colour cube and packed it as an HDA. RDG Color Cube - an Houdini Digital Asset On thispage you can download the HDA and a sample scene. The page also offers an explanation of all parameters. Some of the features: Custom distribution objects and swatches Fade to gray: various grayscale algorithms Delete by color: expression driven color seperation I guess I can now start a new projekt. rdg
These are some personal chalenges for you Rdg. cool! Andz, I know this page from the days I was an "Interaction Designer ;) ". Personally I am more a fan of Jared Tarbell: http://complexification.net/ http://levitated.net/ Currently I rewrite my house HDA - as soon as the door shader is finished I can put this to file. rdg
RDG Generic House - an Houdini Digital Asset This Houdini Digital Asset generates abstract central-European houses. LEO-oo-
Nice job Georg! Thanks! Maybe you refine the house-type-selection (check your PM!).
rdg
(check your PM!). Thanks again, Leo. I thought I fetch this from PM's back to public discussion: You are suggesting to change the Menu for House Type from "Toggle" to "Normal". Does normal provide a way to set its value by expression, too? I didn'T see this option thats why I set it to toggle ... Georg
rdg
RDG Color Cylinder- an Houdini Digital Asset Abstract This Houdini Digital Asset generates an Color Cylinder - a geometric representation of the HSV color space. Not that sophisticated like the color cube, though - just a start. Georg Edited April 17, 2007 by rdg

Georg Yeah! "http://www.flight404.com/blog/" is really cool!!! Especially that "birds" project they have done for FOX Japan... http://nervo.tv/index.html?sect=5&proj=foxmovies it is really great... I wish I had time to experiment with non-photo realistic / graphics / procedural approaches... Houdini has a great potential for that kind of stuff.
