Particle Bug?

So, I have two particle emitters. One of them has a group appended to it and a kill sop that kills everything that leaves the boundaries of the group bounding box. However, if I merge those two particles emitters together using collect, particles from the second branch also start getting killed. That looks pretty bizzare because I wouldn't expect particles from one branch to see the operators from another branch. Is it a bug or am I missing something? The scene is attached. Thanks!
