Wolfwood
Word. So in order to do an RFE do we need to preform some sort of sacrifice? Like open up a can of beer? On a side note, is SESI going to change some of the older Env. variables like EDITOR, FPS, and SHELL to the newer convention? Just to be consistent? jim. plan9
do we need to preform some sort of sacrifice? Like open up a can of beer? hey...how bout we just open up a few kegs of beer? ...sacrafice is such a powerful word...in this case it would be, "do we have to throw away a beer?" .... great thanks, blasphemy...iam going to hell

Jason
Maybe if we keep on harping on it, someone from SESI () might see it! It's gotta be about 20 minutes of work someone of mad skillz at SESI to put this in.. I can see the potential painter button appearing in a few places - editing textures, painting on stills in COPs - but baby steps first, right? Wolfwood
Harp! HaRp! hArp! HaRP! hArP! Hmmm seems to be working...i thought i saw a edit texture button appear and disappear in COPs....or maybe it was the beer. jim.
edward
On a side note, is SESI going to change some of the older Env. variables like EDITOR, FPS, and SHELL to the newer convention? Just to be consistent? No, because they are environment variables that other Unix applications use and expect. ie. they are *not* Houdini specific although Houdini uses them. PS. You guys should decide what the RFE is and post on the SESI forums.
Jason
Hi Edward, I moved it over here!

Ah. Thanks for the info. Edward. What about $HOUDINI_EDITOR with the default set to $EDITOR? That way your general system editor can be different from the one Houdini uses. Personally, using EDITOR is fine for me, I'm just throwing out ideas. Thanks Edward/SESI for taking the time to listen to both our good and bad ideas jim.
