  1. I have hqueue server and client installed and working on one machine. I am trying to add a second computer in a home network, as a client. when installing the client on the second computer i need to enter the server name and port number. I am not savvy with networking and do not know how to find this information. the houdini docs say to set this field to the machine hosting the hqueue server. I didn't know what to enter so i entered the ipv4 ip address of the first machine where i installed hqueue. and used the same port number 5000. this didn't succeed in adding the client to hqueue. Help would be appreciated. is there a way i can look up the correct server name info? thank you
  2. Hey magicians, I'm working on a project with a client that involves some large simulations, around 400gb stuff, my internet connection isn't the best on my city (10mb down, 5mb up), so I wanted to ask what's the best pipeline in this cases. The client gave me the idea to save the sim in a hard drive, and send to them over fedex or something, so they got all the stuff within some days and they can render there. Another solution I think can work is using some service like Gridmarkets where I gave them the files and they render out. Any ideas will be more than welcome Thank you!
  3. I know this has been asked a few times already but i've not found a very conclusive answer.. At work we currently have one Houdini FX license (locked to my machine) and we would like to test out using some of the other machines for rendering and simulation in the most cost efficient manner. Am I right in thinking we can use my machine as a workstation license and also as the Hqueue server machine? And then we would need Houdini Engine licenses for the render farm machines for rendering and simulation? But the Houdini Engine plugin that comes with Maya is not the same as a Houdini Engine license? And we already have unlimited mantra nodes that came with my FX license so we can just install them on the render farm machines? Is that correct? Have I missed anything?? Cheers
