mightcouldb1
I always do my best to search the forums, look through the help, or try things out before I ask. I am learning Houdini on my own and don't know anyone personally that uses the software so it's hard to get info. What is this forums consensus on asking tons of questions? Macha
I think it is OK as long as you make a search beforehand. I learn it by myself too whenever we have no work -which seems to be the default state these days- and in that time I'll stuff my head with as much Houdini knowledge as I can. I also find the folks here very helpful and smart.
Hazoc
It would be cool if forums were able to show similar topics under the one you're currently reading, like in youtube.
Marc
Hey Jason I think it's cool as long as it appears like you've done some digging first . I think the people who get the grumpy answers are the ones who seem to want things handed to them on a silver platter. The good thing about this forum is that it's filled with professional Houdini users (ie not many hobbyists), the downside to that though is that the answers to questions may not be as quick as some would like since we're all ridiculously busy. Although having said that, the answers are normally very good. I'm still constantly amazed by the level of responses here. So keep up the learning, ask valid questions and remember to give back if you know something. woot! M

michael
and it's always a good idea to be very clear about what you're trying to do and what you have tried so far...often there are a number of ways to accomplish a goal, knowing what you want to do will help us give the best advice.
