old school
Some very nice looking trees indeed and the tools are very interactive and fast. A perfect tool for building one-of-a-kind hero trees. The gallery tree types are way off though. That Sugar Maple sure ain't a sugar maple, either roadside or forest. Neither is the Oak. Awww it doesn't matter any more anyway as long as it blows up and burns down good.
J.Santos
WOW times two... Have you seen the prices? And the support contract? WOW... It's really cool and fast but it is expensive! You could probably build a nice digital asset capable of making you a tree the way you wanted, accepting as Input your "Curve SOP" or whatever... complete with shaders control! The RBD part I really don't know...

Can you imagine SESI licensing their products like that.... eek!

Allegro
But you can use it in as many productions as you like... How many productions do they think a studio will make in a year? I'd way rather their $10k per production fee that they charge for games.

Macha
As for games, I think it is way way waaaaay to expensive. I'm not sure they have a good business model. There's only gonna be a handful of game companies who may be able to afford this, for a very specific type of game. Better invest in a good programmer than have a few nicer looking trees and bushes (especially if they are likely to clash with the rest of the design) At least that's how I see it from this end. asnowcappedromance
agreed, prices are ridiculous. I was amazed by the performance of the dynamics and the simplicity of the app ... but who throws boxes at trees anyway?

jrgauthier
It reminds me of the time when Softimage start selling FaceRobot for like 100 000$ Studios that could afford the software, could actually afford to build their own tool from scratch. And people who could actually care for the product could not afford it.
