edgem
Hello, I am trying to create some rivulets flowing on a window and was wondering how to proceed. Anyone have an idea on how to achieve that kind of effect with POP ? Trying to sim particles and use VDB mesh but can't get that kind of streaky and noisy look Any advice is welcome. Thanks Edited February 2, 2015 by edgem
3iart
are you talking about something like this?
edgem
yes exactly.... The rivulets on windows. You got a nice one here. Congratulations Is that a custom noise setup you used ? Edited February 3, 2015 by edgem
eetu
You could also try to sidestep making a simulation at all. Project some curves onto your windows, animate a Carve SOP to get a moving segment with a larger pscale at the leading edge.
3iart
This vid is not mine, it's toadstorms, but you can read about his setup somewhere on his blog.
blendingshadow
I am looking at something similar but emitting particles on a surface or set axis and then resampling and creating trails from those points. I am stuck on getting the points to either have noise only on one 'plane' direction as they move down or having them stuck to a surface as they move down with noise
