Jebbel
Hi guys, I need some thoughts on this. Let's say you need a pretty big simulation and the background can be a much lower resolution than the foreground. Is this something that can be done? And are there any great examples out there?I've been looking around and maybe this can be done using bounding box instancing or some advanced advection methods? Any thoughts or comments are greatly appreciated .Thanks, Jeffrey.
Diego A Grimaldi
What kind of sim are you talking about? Pyro? Flip? What exactly?
mupapabear
You can resize and retime an existing pyro Simulation multiple times. Funny enough, this was a topic recently at the Houdini Pyro FX in Production Workshop.
kleer001
Other than this I can't think of anything else if you need the whole thing to be a single simulation: Of course you'd have to hand roll an implementation in Houdini.
Jebbel
Sorry... forgot to mention that it needs to be FLIP simulation . But it's very good to know that it can be done in Pyro too . Thanks guys; I will have a look at the Highly Adaptive Liquid Sims. will report back! J.
djwarder
Something like the 'detail op' node in Naiad would be great in Houdini ... (skip to 0:24)
