CaptainAhoy
Hi, It is my first time doing dynamics in Houdini and I'm trying to make a simple scene. Cereal falling into a bowl. I understand I will be using Rigid Body Dynamics and a particle instancer but not sure how to start. Are there any good tutorials for this? Thanks! mestela
Depends if you want a quick self contained scene you can easily pull apart (my preference), or a long video tutorial. I have a few examples on my site, including a clean way to emit multiple packed shapes into an rbd solve (courtesy of Anim here on the forums), should be a good start. http://www.tokeru.com/cgwiki/index.php?title=HoudiniDops#RBD_and_packed_prims Edited April 26, 2016 by mestela
Jesper Rahlff
This is a tutorial on digital tutors which is a brief introduction to houdini and the RBD system. The tutorial is from houdini 9 but I did this tutorial 2 years ago when I started on houdini, and you can easily follow along in a newer version. http://www.digitaltutors.com/tutorial/3423-Introduction-to-Houdini-9 also to make sure you understand how the RBD and Collision relationship works, this tut is really good as well http://www.digitaltutors.com/tutorial/2006-Introduction-to-Collisions-in-Houdini

Once I've got a grasp on FLIP Fluids I want to turn my attention to Rigid Body Dynamics, so these will be a great help!
