art3mis
I have some geometry(small grids) copied to points on a Sphere surface using the new Copy to Point SOP. Now I need to have these tiles collide with the sphere. I tried simply defining the sphere as a static object and then applying a RBD solver to my tiles but this doesn't work. The tiles are affected by gravity force but simply fall right through the sphere as though it wasn't there. Can anyone suggest the proper way to achieve collision when you have geometry copied to (scattered) points in this way?
Atom
Here is an example using wind forces to move some RBD pieces around. Initially they are just boxes copied to the surface of the pink sphere. The pink sphere is a Static Collider I created using the shelf tool. The only small difference was the I shrunk the pink sphere by 0.3 units so the copied objects were not directly in collision on frame 1. Gravity does take over and you can see the boxes do collide with the sphere they were spawned upon. ap_RBD_leaves_with_wind_mask_062617.hiplc Edited June 26, 2017 by Atom
