gerescm
Hi all, I want to import a particle simulation from houdini to Maya without using the Houdini engine and render in Redshift. I made a way around it stamping spheres into particles and exporting them as Alembic, but the file is too damn heavy. Do you have any suggestion? Thanks in advance. Atom
If your Houdini app is on the same machine as the Maya app, why not just render directly out of Houdini? The Redshift license works for all apps on the same machine.

Sepu
You should be able to transfer the particles as a redshift proxy.

Sepu
The Rop has a tab call archive, check that and make sure that you render the whole sequence, if you want to make sure that you are just saving the particles go the object tab use the force objects. or just select the particles and and check "Export only selected objects" Edited September 12, 2017 by Sepu

Tex
Fwoaar I've been bashing my head around with Engine trying to figure this out, I would never have thought of RS proxies. Thanks!
Sophie
Could anyone tell me what rop node this is? Do you need like a plugin for redshift? Haven't used it before and would love to try!
gerescm
Yes you need to install Redshift in order to export rs proxies to Maya.\ If you want to export your particles to Maya you can use the Houdini Engine to bring them in.
