An_pi
Hi. Is COP's a realistic alternative to NUKE, in case of color grading, and editing passes? Is it possible to create the same quality of output in about the same time, if the artist have about the same hours of learning NUKE vs COP'S (If the artist already know Houdini's others operator levels)
malexander
No, Nuke is a much more complete solution. COPs is a bit outdated.

Don't forget the NLE functionality
StepbyStepVFX
By the way, if you want to do color grading and editing, DaVinci Resolve is a really nice tool. Nuke is really made for compositing, matchmoving, keying... very versatile, but DaVinci is really oriented toward grading and editing (though, I never tried Nuke Studio... only used NukeX).
j00ey
There are things you can do in COPs very easily that are a real headache in Nuke and also many things you can't do at all I think, but I've been bitten a few times by relying on it and it then bugging out on me at the last minute.
An_pi
I was digging around and found "Natron", which seems to have the functionalities I need, and it's open source <3 Thanks for your replies
