Vellum + Redshift - how to use multiple materials

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I got an understanding problem regarding materials and redshift.

Within my geometry I have three tubes, each of them merged and feeding a vellum solver.

At the obj level I need to assign a material in the render node to get my material rendered using RedShift. But as I want different materials assigned to the output of the Velum solver I'm completely stuck as I can't assign multiple materials in the render tab. I've tried to add * but it's not working

I used groups to assign a group attribute.

I understood how can I assign a specific material based on group attribute using the material node.

But still I can't get multiple materials it's just one or nothing.

Thanks

I don't think you want to merge them like that, you'll duplicate your geometry. You only need one material node. Click the + button to add new material slots and use the group field to isolate them.

I’ve tried this approach as well (just one material node + group fields) but with no success.
I’m actually stuck in the render tab as I can’t select my material node but only the materials  so I end up with just one material and not all of the materials added in the material node
