JDenker
Hello Community, i have a question concerning PAL and NTSC. Since im originally from Europe, PAL is the most common standard there, but I am living in North America right now. And here its NTSC. So when it comes to sending out demoreels in form from a dvd to both continents. What could you guys suggest. Rendering everything out in NTSC and sent it to companies in North America and render the the same out in PAL to sent it to companies in Europe? Im pretty interested in your opinion. Thanks in advance! -J
michael
if you want people to see it, send it in the format that they use... DO NOT assume that studios have the ability to see both NTSC and PAL...

jason_slab
do studios even still watch demo reels on "TV" in Europe and the states? just wondering... jason
deepblack
from that point of view, should one need to take renders for both ntsc, pal? OR prepare the reel whatever the system he/she is using already,or maybe directly progressive, and change it in comp package or proper softwares? which is the way to go. we always read that "send your reels on tape". can 24fps renders be turned perfectly to pal or ntsc? kleer001
Some companies may care, some may not. If their website f.a.q. doesn't say one way or another I think it's best to default to the country standard. Beyond that a high rez reel online is good too, and best make sure it's platform and os agnostic as some studios are on funky pipelines like linux/mac/BeOS/Atari
