hoknamahn
How to insert point into a polygon (see a pic) in a 3dsmax way?
Mcronin
I don't think you'll find a one click solution for this unless it can be done with VOPs. You can use PolySplit to accomplish this, though.
hoknamahn
It's not effective
Stremik
What do you mean? Is it not working at all or this solution just not right for what youre doing?
danteA
Just a small point but you can make multiple cuts in polysplit. Which means that for this example, you only need 2 polysplits.
michael
why not just use a subdivide? or is it important to have the new edges start at exsisting verts?
AndrewVK
PolyBevel + Fuse (Snap mode, Average value) + Fuse (Consolidate mode)
Mcronin
Faster still, polyextrude then edgeecollapse.
hoknamahn
Subdivide is not usefull in my case, multiple polysplits usefull but very slow and too hard method. But Mcronin's method almost is pretty good What i need... I have one object, for example sphere and surface. And i want to "attach" surface and sphere (without something like Boolean SOP). To do this i need to create common points located on the surface (i.e. project my spere on the surface) and weld it with points on sphere. See pics. Jason
With a double-backed cut using a PolySplit, you could get something pretty close...
