most bizarre client note

I am sure that with all of the experience on this forum there has been some bizarre and cryptic feedback from clients.  What are some the most bizarre client notes you have had?

For me, I was working on a live action feature film for a well known anime director. I was doing a series of explosions, kind of like a carpet bombing type effects, and the only note I got from the client was:

"Can you make it more Yakuza like"

To this day I am still confused as to what the director wanted.

I know it's heresy in design/vfx but I actually like the psychology of 'client notes'.  It's a problem to be solved! If you think vfx artists are immune to such quackery, it's analogous to posting about a software bug... 11 times out 10 your bug report is as 'clear' :)

Check this out -> Client asks to 'make that bit more red' when the pixel values are 1,0,0. Impossible you say! The lateral solution was to make everything else in the scene less red, that made that part of the image more red. It's always something like that, at least in my experience.

"A little less candycane and a little more grand piano", when referring to a field of clouds. What did he mean? Guess here!!

1. Less wispy bits, more cumulus congestus!  i.e.  candy cane is decoration, grand piano is imposing.

2. Less sunset colours, more ominous dark clouds! i.e. remove the red of a candy cane and add the lacquer of a grand piano.

Yeah Jason, that's actually an easy one :D

The obvious question is why do some clients feel the need to use metaphors (analogies are fine) when giving feedback - they must be confusing it with the creation process which is in the hands of the hired specialist/s.

Here's one:

"There's something wrong with the meniscus. Fix it." - referring to a perspex-shaded question mark.

After much back and forth, it ended up being that the client didn't like the background refracting through the object!

A lot of pain and stress could be avoided if there was a "VFX glossary for Dummies (ie clients)".

LSD has been known to affect the way people perceive the world. ;)

Is it possible to have a look at this field of clouds? because it could be everything-the shape the colour, how realistic they are etc
