MIguel P
Hello everyone! I've done another scene inspired in The cronicles of Narnia (the frozen cascade scene), with ice chunks cracking ang going away with the waves. The scene is a DOP simulation combined with a system in SOPs to move and rotate the chunks with the waves. I hope it like you. http://www.miguelperezsenent.com/Media/ice_chunks_river.avi
Marc
I like it alot, very nice work.
michael
very cool...really good work... would be nice to see it be a bit more violent...when ice chunks like this break off they bob up and down a lot more at the start....
Visual Cortex Lab
Yeah Miguel.. as i already told... I like a lot this work .. keep it up! thumb up.
SpencerL
would be nice to see it be a bit more violent...when ice chunks like this break off they bob up and down a lot more at the start.... Yeah, that would be nice...the Lag CHOP could create some nice bobbing.
MIguel P
Thank you. The river noise hasn't very much heigth. If I increase it, the bobbing will be more violent
LEO-oo-
Cool! Nice job! But a little bit more "action" is a good idea

MIguel P
the bobing first comes from the ice chunk falling into the water... Ok, I understand you Here is another version (without shaders) with more violent movement. http://www.miguelperezsenent.com/Media/ice_chunks_front.avi By the way, Marc, do you know Daniel Ferreira? He is in sony too. This scene is inspired in his work for the film
michael
yeah, much better... for ice over a river much of the ice is above the water until it breaks off...you're getting that look now...
Marc
Hey Miguel Yeah I know him, I worked with him on LWW and currently on Spidey... Your ice break looks very similar to what was done on LWW, that's why I think it looks good
Overload
Very nice Miguel....as always keep it up!

MIguel P
Thanks I've added some noise to the chunks and foam to the water. Later I'll post a vdeo.
MIguel P
Well, How do you see this animation? http://www.miguelperezsenent.com/Media/Tes...ce_chunks_1.avi
brianwal
That's pretty sweet dude! I'd love to see some more bobbing in the ice chunks as they initially break off, and maybe a little more interaction with the water. Keep up the very cool work. [No pun intended]
MIguel P
Thanks brianwall Now I'm testing the ice shader:

MIguel P
Another animation with some modified thinks. Any comment? Video
B.Walters
One of the first things I noticed was that you could see the tears in some of the pieces before they broke off. I don't recall that being the case in earlier simulations (though I may be wrong...?)
