Glass in mnaterialX

Hi, I have a little problem with my glass material. 
When I set the IOR to the correct value of 1.4-1.5 the rendered result looks like I had a magnifying glass.
In other DCC it looks correct. 
What should I do for get a glass with correct  look and correct IOR?

I also noticed the Karma IOR values no longer match the traditional IOR charts for materials that have been referenced for decades. 

Just lower the IOR until it looks good. Or don't use glass at all and just use transparency.

I use it as workaround for glass surfaces set IOR to 1 and it looks better but on the other hand when it is needed it got to fail.
Thank you for your response, so I do not feel dumb as I tough it is my fault :)
