Houdini 15 Teaser

Recommended Posts

Layered Material sounds like what everyone has been dreaming of since... forever?

Interesting that the Renderman nodes will see some love. Make sense since they opened it up for free non-commerical which i imagine increases the userbase. I know they are working on a native Renderman for Houdini plugin for version 20.

Really interested in the retopo tools. It just 3dcoat, topogun, modo and even Zbrush have (auto) solutions so it's interesting that Houdini is putting in their own version.

Ragdoll physics + the crowd system. Looking forward to a lot of carnage in those demos.

Onion skinning, more animation... cannot argue, much appreciated.

On one side it looks a bit thin for a full version. On the other side, nobody was expecting a full version release so soon, so...I´m happy anyway  :D

PS: definitely, layered materials for the win!

I would say that the bottle caps are just showing some of the new features....maybe... :)

Hi Solitude,

Yes, in August at SigGraph2015, GridMarkets came out of stealth mode to announce a new Houdini rendering service in partnership with Side Effects.  We are getting great feedback on the ease of use and performance of the service.  Would love to get your feedback too . . . sign up to be a beta tester (see here: gridmarkets.com/beta-signup) and give the service a (free) trial run.
