Atom
I think your video is looking really close. I have not reviewed any launch footage recently but I think if you slow it down a bit or add some drag you will increase the perceived scale of the scene. When something is big it usually moves slower. If you have not checked out the thread on how to avoid the mushroom look when using pyro you might want to check it out. girtab
Thank you Atom I will see the topic and I will be back with some test !
Jesper Rahlff
I think you are pretty close. As Atom suggested I would try to slow it down, so it looks a lot bigger. Also you might want to try to add a lot of detail to the smoke, and breaking up those mushroom clouds. I would suggest you look at the gas disturb micro solver. That can help you with the mushrooms.
benne5
Increased resolution and the right shader settings will go a long ways. Increase your resolution by decreasing the division size of your smopkeobject. When you have honed your sim enough to start rendering be sure to set the volume filter on your geo node to gaussian and adjust the volume filter width as desired when you are rendering.

In two seconds most of the clouds are created and you see the pulsing power of the thrusters, have a look at this video: I was not able to simulate this speed in an acceptable quality. My final solution was to simulate in a normal speed and use only every 6th cache frame. The only drawback is that you have to simulate a lot more frames.
