tricecold
Is the openCL issue on recent Intel CPUs is fixed on Linux. Is there a patch or a workflow. Thanks
Syrena
I'm using a Threadripper 12 core and it works fine in Ubuntu and Windows 10. 4ghz simple over-clock in Asus bios on all 12 cores.
asmartkid
Hi! I'm about to start building a 1950X based PC, and just wanted to quickly check from first hand Threadripper users working with Houdini if you've experienced any reliability issue or any other problem that could prevent you from recommending these CPUs for Houdini users. Also, I have serious doubts regarding motherboards, all that gaming kids marketing just kills me... any recommendations is welcome... Very happy Thank you guys, I heard of some issues when Threadripper launched but good to know it was fixed shortly.

Out of curiosity, which memory kit did you go with, and what speeds?

Pancho
What I would like to know is what kind of temperatures other X1950 users achieve with what kind of cooling. Currently there are 4 case fans (200mm) with quite a lot of power, but also with an incredible loud sound. There are other ventilators with about half of the air volume per hour, but much more quiet. Wonder how much the temps will rise, if I exchange them.

I'm currently building my 1950x based workstation with a Noctua 14S TR4-SP3 and a Carbide 600Q sound-dampened case with three 140mm stock fans. If you can wait for some days I'll pass some information if you're still interested...

First stress test to my just built workstation (with the above configuration), using Mantra and some other intensive applications : cpu temperature around 60-62C after several hours of 100% use, with case fans at high speed (but barely audible). Extremely positive first impressions, really happy with this configuration.
