Cheers!

I stumbled upon this the other day:

http://www.ldraw.org/

Aparently there's a whole community dedicated to virtual lego building - who knew?

Wow, it's been a while. :)

It was suggested that I give some of my old work here a fresh look with some of the new rendering features (pbr, in particular). I took the lego file that I posted earlier in this thread and re-purposed a bunch of the pieces for a new pbr render and voila:

When I was cutting my teeth on the new pbr stuff, lego was my playground. :)

This is kinda what it looked like:

I don't know how I got into this whole lego thing. I was sitting at my desk one day and saw a lego minifig and thought, "Hey, that wouldn't be too hard..."

I liked this thread a lot. As a tribute to the author, here's stu's lego updated to H13 standards (and using Wolfwood's disney brdf shader for plastic surfaces).  Anybody willing to take a stab at it and push it a notch or two further?

Wow, that's a blast from the past, great stuff!

I do still occasionally still tinker around in the lego universe, here's an H13 render from about a year ago:
