rbd sim lost uvs

hey all!

I'm importing an obj with uvs into houdini, shatter it and sim a rbd bullet dynamic. I've noticed that after the assemble node created by the shelf tool uvs are gone. now I'm trying to cache out an alembic but once imported outside of houdini I can 't get uvs back...any idea why?

On your dopimport node try changing the Import Style to Fetch Unpacked Geometry from DOP Network.

This trick worked great, however when i import into Maya its as 1 piece... is there a way i can have each piece individually while still keeping the attributes?

Use the rbd to fbx exporter instead of traditional fbx.  That would require packed primitives.  However, you can use "fetch packed geometry from DOP network".  The uvs will transfer over when exported out using the rbd to fbx exporter.  This will also provide individual pieces.

Try storing original path string and after fracture and sim export geometry with `Build Hierarchy From Attribute` on alembic output.
