Masoud
Hi; In a vellum cloth sim, I would like to pin some points for some frames, and then unpin them gradually. I created an animated group called "pin" and added a "pin to target constraint" inside vellum solver, but it doesn't work. Thanks for helping. chrisribar
If I remember correctly, you have to put the animated group (must be primitives) between the vellum constraints and the solver and within the solver you need to actively update the constraints coming from the second input. I believe an entagma tutorial on patreon goes into this into further detail on animating vellum constraints. If you were using a dopnet, you would use a solver inside the network to update the incoming constraints. Hope that helps!
ryew
Sorry I don't have time to check your file, but perhaps this tutorial regarding animated vellum constraints from Rohan Dalvi could help if you haven't already seen it
flcc
A few weeks ago I made a similar setup and to start with I made exactly the same as yours, and indeed it doesn't work. Anyway this is the Moritz method to achieve the same thing. The group is used to play with stiffness not activation. satoru
If Mass attribute is 0, point will be pinned. So you can do this by controlling Mass attribute. Pin to Target sy.hipnc
satoru
Mestela's method was simple and clever. https://www.sidefx.com/forum/topic/62486/#post-277704
