ptakun
Hi everyone! This is my first post here!! Two years ago I did animation which was partly created using Houdini. I thought this is the right place to show this stuff. It was rendered in Renderman http://lizard.neostrada.pl/BehindClosedEyelids.mov Greetings!! :afro:
Andz
I love it. Can you give us more detail about the modeling and animation??? Please someone promote him from a Peon.
peliosis
Are you by accident a gibon digital founder or member? I'm sure I've seen a part of it in their reel. Great animation, no "3d" feeling at all, very nice.

I especially like the dynamics on falling spike balls. Very subtle feel to the whole thing, A+. GY

ptakun
Hello again! Talking about technical side of the animation. All objects were modelled using expressions and particles, finally changed to Ri sphere or curve. Please notice that there are everywhere spheres and curves They were putted to Ribboxes. I've used very simple shaders(diffuse only and specular). The last shot(white ball) additionaly got hdri map. Lights and shadows(ShadowMap) done the rest. None of the shots were used raytrace. I wanted animation to be subtly - something like slow motion. Slow, monumental movements. Talking about details, in first shot(grass) slope of the each grass blade was lumination of bitmap with waving sequence. In shot 4 (green wave) the height of the certain point was the result of the offset lumination of the gradient. To this surface were connected points with Ribboxes. Balls, forcing through themselves, are just moving particles(interact). Red "noise"(shot07) is turbulence which activate particles changed to Ribboxes. In all shots camera 16mm was used. The most of my time I spent for lighting. Peliosis: I bet You saw it on Polish forum3d where it was showed in some cutted version. Greetings!! :afro:
