Richard_st
Hi Everyone, I'm trying to setup a TOPs network to cache out sims with multiple parameters being sent to the dop network. Seemingly basic stuff, however nothing I'm doing seems to be working how I think it's going to work. What I've tried: Using a wedge node to set a random attribute and trying to use that attribute in an exterior dop network - caches into a view able geo rop output but all the wedges were the same Rebuilding the pyro sim purely in the tops network - it makes something but when viewed all the frames appear empty Have the source inside the tops and the dop outside - same result as the first
Richard_st
I found the answer, you need to wrap your sim into a HDA like the game dev fire presets. This video gives a quickstart guide:
Atom
Just like the author, I end up with an error state at the end of the tutorial. He doesn't explain how to fix it. Does anyone know how to make this file work as intended? ap_tops_pyro_wedge_export_070621.hiplc Edited July 6, 2021 by Atom
haggi
If I use the sop path /obj/fire_presets1/fire_import/SIM_OUT instead of your /obj/fire_presets1 it works for me.
Atom
Thanks that works. The Labs toolset may have changed the way the output works on that pyropreset node since the tutorial was authored.
