patremblay
How to make this shape with a curve? This was done in C4D.
anim
you can use Curve SOP in Bezier mode for that it will not draw or link the tangents but essentially it works like bezier curves in any other software, point tangent tangent point tangent tangent point, ... alternatively you can convert any poly line to Bezier
Librarian
Play with this and if you search you have endless files about that ...(curves I know trust me) I just Have Fun. 014ODforceKR.hipnc
flcc
If you're coming from C4D, curves are one of the most disturbing areas. As Anim say, there's no differentiation between anchor points and tangent points. if you have no need for proceduralism and just want to draw some curve, keep making your curves in c4d and import them in houdini. If you don't already know, the best way is to copy and paste your curves in illustrator via cv-artmart , save them in ai or eps then import in houdini. Anyway, i make a little movie for you. And the same thing into C4D for houdini fellows, if they're curious. PS : I'm no houdini expert, either. If anyone has a better way to do it, please show. patremblay
Thanks for the helpful clip @flcc , yeah I'm a C4D veteran and imo Houdini is far superior in most areas except for curves or splines management and a couple other things. You don't have to go through illustrator, I figured I'd export directly from C4D but that indeed kills proceduralism fun...

Noobini
obviously, only suitable for symmetrical curves: (forgot to do the base but no big deal, doable...) Edited June 4, 2020 by Noobini
Noobini
to do the base, I had to go back to order 4, so that intermediate points will give you perfect 90deg angle.
