Late Night Cg

Hey all! Here's the latest thing I finished. Comments and crits as always appreciated.

That's great. I'm trying to remember whether the SGI O2's had side ports like that... Nah, that's not an SGI is it?

The character looks pretty much like I felt last night.

Hey, that's a late night old school ;)

Moody it is. Looks a bit too cg for me though, check the speculars, make it more rough if I can add a note.

It's very encouraging to see more good renderings from H. on the web

Thank you so much for your C&C folks. Makes me feel all warm 'n' fuzzy. :P

Peliosis, you're right. There's some things that I goofed up in post. Most of the 'look' was achieved in the compositor (if you look at the Halo screenshot, the pure render is pretty bleh), so the consistancy in lighting and so forth is not perfect. Next time I will try to get closer to the desired look with proper lighting and less post-work.

sum][one, yup it's all Houdini. No Photoshop either, since the only texture used is the monitor's screen, everything else is a procedural shader.

Andz, I rendered the scene in four 640x440 quadrants and then merged them in Halo. It's really easy to do from the camera controls.

Marc...lol. That teapot is killing him!

And I'm starting to think I should have given him some coffee.

Thanks again for all your comments.
