artzor
wow, this is bugging me now... stevenong i loaded up your file (thanks for upload) and the glass shader immediately gave an error. "This node is using an incomplete asset definition. It will not function properly until the asset library containing the full definition is installed" any ideas? -edit- the render still gives me a lambertian like result, even after i tried different reflect/refract limits.... arg!!! stevenong
You have to replace the glass shader I installed. The warning is saying Houdini can't find the shader. I would install the shader again & it should just work. If it still doesn't work, you can set up the file all over again and learn that way too. Cheers! steven

br1
Hi everyone, I'll be on a project that will require realistic glass rendering. I'm under Houdini 10 and am wondering will work under this version. More important, what do I have to do to "install" the shader ? Do I just have to install the .otl file (the lastest one seems to be SH_glass_p5.otl), or are there more steps to get required it to work ? Thanks br1 Edit : Looks like I found an answer to my question in that thread : http://forums.odforce.net/index.php?showtopic=9039&st=0 Guess I'll have to try something else, I'll start by having a lool at those posts here and here . kleer001
Or Houdini 13?
eetu
I did a quick hack for separate ior per RGB component, you can check it out in here. No fancy spectral sampling like Mario's shader in this thread..
