Jason
If you can, download it from http://www.vislab.usyd.edu.au/sidefx - it's a slightly newer version. Oh, and welcome to odforce! We hope you enjoy Houdini and all.

athomas
I've got to say I've never experienced that quick of update versions being available. Got to install a new version every other week (not complaining though)

michael
there is one but it's not made available to Apprentice users, AFAIK.
Guest Guest
Well... that's unfair! Anyone can see from Early Access forum on SideFX's site that Apprentice users contribute alot by submitting bugs.

Marc
Hey Stremik ...um.... try again maybe? I've checked your settings and everything looks fine. I did switch a few things to see if it made a difference. If not, then mail me and I'll see what I can do.. Cheers Marc

anakin78z
so have you guys tried the wire deform sop? Pretty darn nifty.
Mcronin
Heya Anakin, I haven't tried it yet, but I looked at it and I'm not sure how to use it, though I think I know what it's supposed to do. Would you mind giving a quick explanation of how to use the Wire Deform SOP? I think I'm going to be wanting to use it very soon.
anakin78z
ok, here's the basics: the setup is similar to the lattice, so you need these ingredients: polygon surface to be deformed some curve that doesn't move attrib create to create a primitive attribute called radiusf on the curves. same curve, but deformed. now connect 'em, one two three, and you're up and running! you can play with the radiusf value to modify the falloff the effect has. -Jens
edward
For good fun with the wiredeform: - try using a NURBs grid for the second and third inputs - try introducing the scalef prim attribute in the third input and varying that - try putting down a basis sop in the third input and changing the origin All this is gonna change soon though as the interface gets cleaned up and not require so much knowledge to setup. Mcronin
Thanks for the replies. I got it all hooked up like you mentioned Anakin, Poly surface into input one, NURBs curve with radiusf into input 2, deformed curve with radiusf in input 3, but it doesn't seem to work. Infact Houdni 6.1.114 keeps crashing on me whenever I try to do anything with this wiredeformer. Can I trouble someone for a working sample file so I can try to work this out? Stremik
I wander, how many more are there OPs that haven't been added to help docs yet! Is "Wire Deform" the only one?
michael
I think that's why it's called Early Access
