Jason
Main God, this page is huge. Have you guys bought secretly another company or what? I think SESI might've actually written down most of what they put into the release this time . They classically understate the slew of new features, but this they seem to be being good about mentioning everything.

kleer001
Oooh, took this baby for a spin and man, it's more than a might faster. Not sure if I miss the quintessential floating window that used to come up when I'd bake stuff out.
CeeGee
Houdini 12.5 is amazing, some rnd's
freaq
for me the main attraction isn;t actually the Fluidfx... it is openVDB. I just did a test of having one swept curve become a high res volume, and intersecting it with another...the performance is insane... for a volume of 535x423x512 and another high res volume of similar size, including mixing / intersecting the two, and converting to completely quad mesh... of 1 million+ quads... all in total under 6 seconds.. Nerox
I'm very pleased by this release. Lots of cool stuff, especially the cloud and ocean/fluids tools! I was secretly hoping for a new particle surfacer, hope that will make it to H13!
Nerox
Houdini 12.5 is amazing, some rnd's https://vimeo.com/61821695 Does anyone know how this 'point replicator SOP' works? You give it a set of points, but how does it figure out where to add additional points?
Solitude
I was secretly hoping for a new particle surfacer ..OpenVDB can do this...and fast. edit I wanted to be sure, but I thought this was the case: "FLIP fluids now use OpenVDB to generate the fluid surface and use uniform volumes for rendering" Edited March 15, 2013 by Solitude
0rr
what a .5 release.

symek
I think SESI might've actually written down most of what they put into the release this time . They classically understate the slew of new features, but this they seem to be being good about mentioning everything. You are probably right. I simply expected stabilizing release more likely, albeit I have just found unmentioned bombastics: shader calls and custom bsdf. Not to mention variadic arguments support in custom VEX! Me happy is.
