  1. Hi, how can I find the shortest edge on a polygon? I load data from OSM and some shapes have very small edges resulting in gaps when I run it over the Labs building generator from pattern tool. So I want to find the short edges and rescale it if the edge is over a threshold e.g 2,5 or delete them when they are under this threshold. I made a try with fuse but it does not work for me. With fuse after snapping the points the polygon results in a shape that I do not like. Best, D.
  2. Hello odforce, first post on here. I'm an Houdini noob/rookie and I am trying to follow this tutorial from SideFX regarding OSM. The point of this project is to create a procedural city using the Labs nodes and Open Street Map however I can't seem to generate buildings without them having holes/gaps when I try to generate fbx files for the Corners and Ledges. The first image is with trims and corners, and the second image is with walls only which results in no gaps/holes. From my understanding it seems that the problem lies in the labs nodes and might be some sort of "bug". It might be worth noting that the modules/objects used for the houses are from said tutorial and that, yes I've fixed the Centroid on all the modules as well. Here is my file: OSM_city_1.hipnc Here are the files i used for this project: city.zip Here are examples of my issue Any help would be greatly appreciated! 3. Hello, I have a problem that is driving me nuts. I'm using the OSM Import node from the SideFX labs toolshelf, I installed it from the toolshelf panel. Everytime I click the "Generate Marker nodes" checkbox I get this error: I filed a bug for it and have been in contact with SideFX support, they told me to check the permissions of the package folders, I did that and my user have Full Access to the folder. They stopped responding and now i don't know how to solve it. I tried installing different versions of Houdini and the toolshelf but I always end up having the same problem. If anyone have any suggestions on what could be the cause that would be highly appreciated. -Stina
  4. Hey guys! I have been busy with roads, lots of roads. I mainly found the intersections very interesting and hard to solve. Here is some of my progress, the blue roads are straight pieces and the red ones are the interesections. I mainly focused on creating clean geometry with working UVs. I hope you guys like it! 5. Hi I need some help from the guys with the big brains . I have some complex Shapes from osm data inside houdini. So i want create some buildings out of this shapes .But the complexity of this polygons complicate the procedural modeling a lot. So it would be so much easier , if i have just rectangles or kind of rectangular Shape. So have someone an Idea how to achieve this ? It dont have to be total accurate. Read a lot about packing and packing Problem , but have to say that these Papers with 30 Pages of formulas are over my head. Please help
