  1. Hi guys, I am learning crowd simulation at the moment, which is suoer fun. With the premade Mocap Bipeds, all works fantastic. But when I create an agent out of an FBX from Mixamo, it gets super weird. When I try to set up everything for the ragdoll, the collision layer shows me that bones are missing. Why is that? Did you ever experience that? Also the question? To I always have to set up the joints from scratch? Is there no autmatic mode that kind of defines the moving angles? Thank you so much!! Patrick
  2. Hy guys! This is my entry for the HOUDINIMATIC Challenge #5: Halloween Rules: Free subject on the theme of Halloween, 1-month deadline. The result had to be a sequence and everything had to be done under Houdini except the compositing and the modeling if it does not lend itself to the procedural (the tree in my case). Specs: Intel Core i7 2600K@3.4GHZ, 32GB RAM Dev: Layout: 1d / Spiderweb: 4d / Leaves: 6d / Candles: 4d / Dirt: 3d / Fog: 1d Rendered with Karma (BETA). Rendertime: 5d16h30m This was a great challenge experience and perforce, the occasion to learn new techniques during the project. Huge thanks to the community for the feedback and tips to improve the shot! Characters by Mixamo. 3. Hi all, some help needed with crowds and fbx (mixamo). I'm trying to set a simple crow solver. It works fine with the built in mocap, but when importing a mixamo fbx, then I can't get it to work. What am I doing wrong ? here is the file: https://drive.google.com/.../1IYXwa3ZQ1a4wDBWKCuO.../view... Thank you for your help!
  4. Hi guys, I'm glad to share the breakdown of my last project with you! This was my submission for a challenge hosted by Houdinimatic Community. Hope you enjoy!
  5. Hello! I have this two models, one of them is an animated mixamo fbx of a character doing a spin-attack with a sword, and the other is a katana, the mixamo model doesn't have the sword, just the hand open like holding something. I isolated some points on the hand, got the centroid and created a point there, subtracted the position of two points in the palm and the transfered that vector as a normal to the central points where the sword will be, so its aligned to the hand, kind of. This worked for the first frame of the animation but get it comes to the spin the sowrd just keeps the same angle as in the first frame, the long of the sword is correctly oriented but the blade-side of the sword doesn't follow correctly the orientation of the hand. I'm still learning houdini and I for sure missing something and I don't know how to really look up for this anywhere else. Thanks. 6. Hello! Houdini beginner here. I've downloaded some character and animation model from mixamo.com, but I'm having trouble plugging in the texture maps to the principled shader. I currently have the diffuse map plugged into Base Color, specular map plugged into Reflectivity, and normal map into Base under Base&Normal tab. And I'm getting this weird result. How can I fix this? Thank you in advance for taking a look at it! -Y
  7. Hey guys, I tried to import a fbx from mixamo (walking animation) and wanted to add some fem, but as soon as I add it the walk animation stops, there is a way to have both things? Thanks!
  8. I am trying to attach the animation rig controls of the autorig tool to an FBX imported characted from Mixamo, but I have no idea how to approach this. Also I can't generate a Mocap Rig from the designated Button on the animation rig node after creating a fresh autorig. It tells me to select a skeleton, but which skeleton should I select? There is none, just the individual nodes for spine, left_arm etc. I think the autorig tool currently lacks proper documentation covering more than just the default procedure. I'd be really thankful if someone could point me in the right direction!
  9. Hi, I got an animation from mixamo.com in fbx... used c4d to export out an abc - this file opens fine back in c4d. But doesn't show any geometry inside houdini. Is there something I am missing/ doing something wrong? If this won't work does anyone know a convenient way to get mixamo animation inside houdini? Thanks d.
