symek
DreamWorks Animation Releases Proprietary Volumetric Format OpenVDB to Open Source Community Even better: OpenVDB will be fully integrated into the next major release of Houdini, the high-end 3D animation package from Side Effects Software. This release will include a suite of nodes for sparse volume processing.

magneto
Is that Naiad thing confirmed? I read it before but still seems like a rumour If it's true, then Autodesk will run another great product to the ground.

magneto
Terrible news then. It seems like they won't develop it further either.
moondeer
if i were a betting man... the naiad fluid system would be a very nice addition to maya and or softimage. given the nodal nature of naiad, my guess is softimage.... then again, it could also be sprinkled into flame and or smoke.
