  1. This is insane, could never have imagined we would be advancing at this pace... gosh... the next 10 years are going to be incredible... and terrifying at the same time.
  2. If USD brings some direct benefit is precisely the rendering abstraction layer that a Hydra delegate provides, I would go with Karma precisely because of the integration and as MaterialX matures a bit more, then it wont matter at all. In our case we are using Redshift but as a temporary solution waiting for MaterialX to be ready and then we will go to Karma. I hope it helps

  4. No doubt MidJourney is mindblowing, that said, I am worried about the Terms of Service, in the end, I am not sure what I do there is really mine at all. Check this out, moreover, let's imagine someone sees one of my images and decides to 'be inspired by them' and produce art that is derived from those, is it really a minefield so I am not that keen on using MJ precisely because of that. Furthermore, everything has a bit of a look, that I don't like either so I am not sure this is for me... not sure. What do you guys think? I am very interested in your opinion on the subject. Rights you give to Midjourney By using the Services, you grant to Midjourney, its successors, and assigns a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, sublicensable no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright license to reproduce, prepare Derivative Works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute text, and image prompts you input into the Services, or Assets produced by the service at your direction. This license survives termination of this Agreement by any party, for any reason. Your Rights Subject to the above license, you own all Assets you create with the Services. This does not apply if you fall under the exceptions below. Please note: Midjourney is an open community which allows others to use and remix your images and prompts whenever they are posted in a public setting. By default, your images are publically viewable and remixable. As described above, you grant Midjourney a license to allow this. If you purchase a private plan, you may bypass some of these public sharing defaults.
  5. I would love to see the new Pixar Profile Curves in Houdini... that would be great https://graphics.pixar.com/library/ProfileMover/paper.pdf
  6. A suggestion, don't use hard-coded numbers, eventually will break... perhaps something like; file_name = hou.hipFile.basename() return file_name.split("_")[-1] In this way, as long as you keep using the same template separated by underscores, it will work, independently of the length of the string or even the amount of underscores.
  7. Seems the Dropbox link is not working.
  8. I use mainly Linux at work, at home only Mac. I love my mac but my take is that the cost compares with a regular linux box is prety hard to justify. Let's see where things go.
  9. I never stop learning every single time I see one of your example scenes... what a joy to see this elegant solution. Thank you.
  10. I am also interested in it... I think this may not be possible without changing the Theme design itself... and will be globa. i wish there was some extra refinements on the interface (native wise) and also allow us to further customize things like bigger buttonstrips, alignment, etc...
  11. Check this out. https://www.sidefx.com/learn/collections/character-masterclasses/
  12. AFAIK there are no agents available commercially.
  13. Superb toolset, really well crafted. Thank you so much for your generosity, I hope we can repay you in the form of beer or something. :-)
  14. Thanks Szymon, I did end up using that approach and it works well, nevertheless it has been quite annoying not to be able to rely on the evalAtFrame() I took advantage as well as the worldTransformAtTime does a proper evaluation on the frame so I don't need to update the frame and things are a lot faster and smoother. Thanks once again.
  15. I am writing a little python tool that requires evaluating the value of a channel a particular frame, but the object i am evaluating has a chop constraint and the function pos = internal_cam.parmTuple('t').evalAtFrame(f) returns (0,0,0) I imagine the chop network is "overriding" the value but I don't seem to get the result. Any ideas? Thanks. jb
